Handmade Bath SoapMany people have trouble with mass-produced soaps due to allergies and/or sensitive skin. Because of this, handmade bath soaps have become increasingly popular. However, even individuals without itchy skin have discovered the benefits of using soaps made at home. For one thing, if the right ingredients were used, the soap would create super soft skin. Then, because you are making the soap yourself, you can add whatever fragrances and essential oils you like. With handmade soaps, you have the opportunity to use any number of hundreds of recipes or come up with something completely original based on your preferences. Soaps sold in stores are made with fillers, chemicals, detergents, irritants, high animal fat content, and petroleum. This means in addition to skin irritation, store bought soaps are also not friendly to the environment. Although you would probably pay less for store soaps over handmade soaps, you are also not enjoying the full benefits. The number one benefit of handmade bath soap is that only natural ingredients are used, which means high glycerin content for silky smooth skin. Many times, you could create your handmade soaps using shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, olive oil, etc. Unfortunately, many store bought soaps have had the glycerin content removed but when you make your own, the glycerin remains in the soap. Additionally, handmade bath soaps are made using higher quality ingredients. In fact, you will quickly discover that most recipes for handmade bath soap include food grade ingredients, not harsh chemicals.
Then, because there are so many wonderful choices for fragrances and essential oils, you can come up with fresh, vibrant, and sensual recipes. For instance, if you want something light and fresh for the summertime, then soap with a gardenia or melon base would be perfect. If you were interested in creating soap with a romantic flair, something built around musk or frankincense and myrrh would work beautifully. However, for a vibrant fragrance, lime peel, or tangerine are great choices. Another benefit to making handmade bath soaps has to do with quality control. Since you are in the driver’s seat in the production process, you maintain the ingredients going into the soap, as well as the quality of the ingredients. With so many exceptional opportunities, you will have a blast coming up with new and exciting recipes of your own. However, to give you an idea of what you might experiment with, we have provided you a wonderful handmade bath soap recipe that would work great for the entire family.
